McLeod Ganj to Kareri Lake – Himachal Pradesh, India
9 Days – 8 Nights

This trip arrangements start from Pathankot to McleodGanj via road on a cab then trek starts from McleodGanj to the Kareri Lakes and back to McleodGanj. During the trek you will visit villages of the local Gaddi people and pass deeper into the higher reaches of the Dhauladhur Range which forms part of the Himalayas.

Day 1: Delhi-Pathankot: Overnight on train. Assemble at the Delhi railway station and board the overnight train to Pathankot

Day 2: Pathankot -McleodGanj: Arrive at Pathankot railway station in the morning and transfer to Bhagsu Nag, Upper Dharamsala. After lunch do the holy korawalk to McleodGanj; visit the Dalai Lama Temple and walk around the monasteries for an acclimatization hike. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 3: Bhagsu Nag- Satobari- Harnala(1900m). After breakfast at the hotel drive to Satobari(20 minutes) to start the trek to Harnala. From Satobari it is a downhill walk for two hours to Ghera, where we cross the Gaj stream over an improvised bridge & continue on a steep ascent for another 2/3 hours to reach Harnala. We camp near a small refreshing stream that originates at Kareri Lake. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 4: Harnala-Riyoti (2600m): It is an ascent along theKareriNullah, where we cross numerous wooden bridges to reach Riyoti, a campsite on the side of a stream. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 5: Riyoti-KareriLake(3200M) : A gradual ascent for 3 to 4 hours takes us to the pristineKareri Lake which is situated at the base of Minkani Pass. It is a small mountain lake that holds religious significance for the people of the surrounding villages. Camp on the side of the lake.

Day 6: Karerii Lake- Towards Minkani Pass(4200 m) - Kareri Lake This day we walk on the trail to the Minkani Pass. Since the trail is full of snow, we will trek up to the most accessible point on the Minkani Pass & walk back to camp for our overnight stay.

Day 7: Kareri Lake- Kareri Village: It is a downhill walk through the dense forest to the Kareri village. This route offers us some great opportunities to spot birds that are endemic to the Himalayas. Overnight camp near the village.

Day 8: Kareri Village- Barnet-BhagsuNag: Our trek today passes through several tribal villages as we reach the nearest roadhead at Barneta. From this adventurous trek, we drive to Bhagsu Nag and check in at the Hotel.

Day 9: Drive to Pathankot to get your train back to Delhi. Arrangement ends.
